Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Williams

Dorothy ‘Dot’ Evelyn Muckelroy Williams Thursday, April 7, 1932, Dorothy Evelyn Muckelroy was born to the union of Mattie Hunter and Lee P. Muckelroy in Montgomery, Texas. Dorothy attended Sam Schwartz High School and continued on to Prairie View A & M College where she received her Bachelor of Science and Masters degree. Dorothy, lovingly known as ‘Dot’ to family and friends, joined the profession of education. Dot dedicated over thirty years to the education system as a teacher, beginning her career in Bob Burton, and moving on to La Grange ISD. Dot spent a wealth of her tenure in education serving the students of Waller ISD, from which she retired. After retirement her passion for education and students could not be stifled and she took a long-term teaching position in Hempstead ISD. Dorothy touched many lives and was a guiding force for many of the children she taught. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ollie Earl Williams, Jr., June 6, 1954. To this union two children were born, Cotos Earl and Debria’ Evelyn. Dot was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She took extreme pride in her family and made sure that each one of them knew the love she had for them. After her retirement Dorothy became a creature of leisure, absolutely enjoying lounging and watching television. She was an avid arts and crafts lover, and was always a staple at various arts and crafts festivals around town. In addition, she was a connoisseur of good food and loved shopping, especially with her granddaughters. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Earl Williams, Jr., father, Lee P. Muckelroy, mother, Mattie Hunter Muckelroy, brother Cotos Hugh Muckelroy, and grandmother Grove Punch Muckelroy. To cherish her memory and honor her life Dorothy leaves her devoted children: son, Cotos Earl, daughter, Debria’ Evelyn; daughter-in-law, Janis; granddaughters, Colet and Ashia; cousins, Dolores Hunter, Dan Hunter, Jr., Dan Hunter III, and Faith Hunter; cousins-in-law Roby Richards, Jr. (Katy), Roby Richards III and Roderick Richards; extended family Paul Thomas, Karen Thomas, and Trent Thomas, and Charlie Mayes; adopted family, Maxine Smith, Sharral Hewitt, Madison Probus, and Sabrina Hewitt; in addition to a host of beloved and cherished family and friends and of course her precious chihuahua, Tina Marie.
