Mr Elie Cain

Elie Cain, 76, of Waller, Texas passed away on February 8, 2011. Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2011 at Singleton & Sons Funeral Home, 627 New Orleans Street, Hempstead, Texas. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Singleton & Sons Funeral Home.. Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery, Houston, Texas. Arranged and directed by Gerard Singleton. Elie Cain of Seguin, Texas was the second child born to the late Valeria Garcia and Leonard Cain. “E.C.” as he was loving called was born January 17, 1935. At a youg age after the death of his mother, he stayed with his uncle Jesus Garcia in Gonzales, Texas. Elie attended school in a one room building in the rural area of Guadalupe County. Later Elie joined the Armed Services and resigned disable due to a Flu Shot. He was told by doctor’s that he would never walk again. However, by the Grace of God, “That changed.” He married his long time companion, the late Wilma Faye Holland and to this union four children were born. (Carmelia Monique, Wilma Ruth, Eric Michael and Derrick Allen Cain). Elie attended air conditioning and heating school here in Texas. He was one of the first Black AC/Heating contractor’s in Houston, Texas. He was a very kind and loving person --- well known for his great sense of humor, generous heart, love for God and Volvos. Elie departed this life at the V. A. Hospital in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. He was very well cared for throughout his long stay in the hospital. Those left to cherish him memory are five children, Carmelia M. Cain, Wilma R. Cain, Eric M Cain, Derrick A. Cain and Anita Hutchison, one stepson, Patrick Pressley, two sisters, Sarah D. Wells of Houston, Texas, Madie Smith of Humbolt, Tennessee, thirteen grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many life long friends.
