Mrs. Idean Richards

June 7, 1914 - February 11, 2015

Idean Richards was born in Hempstead, Texas on June 7, 1914. She was one of six children born to the late Robert and Seleta Boulds. She attended and graduated from Sam Schwartz High School in Hempstead, Texas. As an employee of Prairie View A&M University, she worked faithfully in Evans and Drew Hall until retirement. She accepted Christ into her life at an early age at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. She was a devoted member, who sang in the choir, was president of the usher board for over 50 years, Homecoming Captain for several years and served in many other capacities. Her community memberships included Eastern Star Singleton Joy Chapter 377, Order of Calanthe of Texas, City Wide Ushers (former President), and Jolly Ladies. God saw the road getting rough for our love one and whispered, “ Idean take your rest , come home” on February 11, 2015 at 6:30 PM. She leaves to cherish her memories one devoted daughter, Reatha Cole; granddaughter Vickie Cole; one sister Lois Boulds. Two grandsons, Daniel Cole, Jr. (Lena) and Michael Cole. Her adopted sons and grandchildren; Burl Garnett, Jr. of Seattle Washington; Kevin Jackson of Prairie View, Texas; Frankie (Gary) Johnson, Jennifer Francis, and Nicole Johnson; nieces and nephews who fondly called her “Grandma” Richard , Kenneth , Broadus , DeJuan , Alec , Terrance , Robert , Lois , Cynthia , Angela , Carol and Pamela Boulds; great-grandchildren, Fred, Tracy and Maya; special friends Joanna Tompkins and Ethelene Johnson.
